Synopsis
Friday, eleven o’clock at night. Carla, a woman in her forties, is alone in her office. She receives a call, it’s Raul, the guy who gives her cocaine. They have known each other for a few years, but they have never exchanged more than two sentences in a row. Tonight will be Raul’s last night working as a drug dealer. He wants to change his life. He is going to Australia, to work as a gardener.
Australia has been subsidized by the ICAA and the Community of Madrid, and its broadcasting rights have been acquired by Movistar+. It has recently premiered in the official section of the Medina del Campo Film Week.

Elena Quiere was subsidized by ICAA, the Junta de Andalucía, and the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha. It premiered in the Official Section of the Málaga Spanish Film Festival in 2007. The short film traveled to numerous festivals both within Spain and internationally, such as the Medina del Campo Film Week, the Elche International Film Festival, the Portobello Film Festival (UK), the Barcelona International Film Festival, the Almaty International Film Festival (Kazakhstan), the Boston Latino Film Festival (USA), the Alcalá de Henares Film Festival, the Tétouan Mediterranean Film Festival (Morocco), the Granada Young Filmmakers Festival, and the MIT European Short Film Festival (USA), among many others. After being selected by over seventy festivals, Elena Quiere won more than twenty awards, including Best Short Film Distribution Award in the Community of Madrid, Best Short Film and Best Actress at the Caja Madrid Short Film Contest, Best Performance for Marta Belenguer and Best Cinematography for Unax Mendía at the Almería International Short Film Festival, Critic’s Award at the Alicante Film Festival, Best Director at the Cinemajove International Film Festival, Best Short Film at the FOC Festival, Best Actress and Best Actor (Víctor Clavijo) at the Abycine Festival in Albacete, Best Short Film at Madrid Imagen, and Best Actor for Víctor Clavijo at the Ibero-American Short Film Contest of Versión Española/SGAE. Durante un mes ha sido proyectado en los Cines Babel de Valencia como complemento de la película Lian de Stephen Frears durante 90 pases comerciales. Ha sido vendido a Canal + España, a France 3, RTV\1, Universal y a Perfect Day en Francia y a la HBO para toda Sudamérica a través de Atom Films, que se encargó de su distribución mundial. Junto al resto de cortos de Javier Rebollo, ha sido incluido en las restrospectivas que han dedicado a su obra los festivales de Brest y Essonne en Francia, Tübingen en Alemania y Bruselas en Bélgica.

Participó en las Muestras de Cine Español, organizadas por el Ministerio de Cultura, en la Cinemateca de Los Angeles (EEUU) y en la Filmoteca de Lima (Perú) en el año 1998; y en la del Festival Internacional de Cine de Bogotá (Colombia), en el 2001. Ha concursado en la Sección Oficial de los principales festivales españoles.
Durante el año 1998 obtuvo numerosos premios, entre ellos, el Primer Premio en
el Festival de Cine español de Málaga y el Primer Premio en el Festival de cortometrajes
de Elche. Ha sido comprado por Canal +,y por TVE, que lo emitió en la Noche
Temática de Canal Arte. También han comprado los derechos de emisión Canal 9,
Canal Arte Holanda y Canal Hollywood, de Canal Satélite Digital y la RTVV, Universal.
Se proyectó durante 3 meses en sa las comerciales: de mayo a julio del año 1997
en los Cines Icaria de Barcelona, y en julio y agosto en los Cines Ideal de Madrid y
más tarde, otro mes, en Valladolid. Junto al resto de cortos de Javier Rebollo, ha
sido incluído en las restrospectivas que han dedicado a su obra los festivales de
Brest y Essonne en Francia, Tübingen en Alemania y Bruselas en Bélgica.
